Kyrie Irving -- Here Today, Gone Tomorrow

Going into the Summer, Duke thought they had the point guard position locked up for the immediate future with Kyrie Irving and Tyler Thornton in the bag and Seth Curry having spent a year practicing the position.

After Kyrie kept improving his game and after he impressed even those watching the pickup games in the K Center, those in the program began to think they may have too good of a solution at the position. A source has told Duke Hoop that NBA front office people have already guaranteed Duke that Kyrie will be a Top 5 pick in the upcoming draft barring injury or an unexpectedly poor showing this year. Duke fans, enjoy Kyrie at the helm while you can, because he will almost certainly be gone before you know it...

  3. It will be a quick stay for Kyrie in Durham, enjoy him.

He's the best guard I've ever seen in NJ over the past 20 years, and we had some good ones.

  5. I'm just happy we get him for one! Kid has been steadily improving for two years, and we get to watch him put on a show for at least 30 games against a tough schedule.

Kyrie was the most important recruit for the last 5 years or so...

  7. If Kyrie helps us win a championship this upcoming year and then leaves Duke for the NBA after only 1 year, I'll take it.

  8. Anonymous, Kyrie is wearing #1 because coach K told him that if he came to Duke he could wear it.
